If my daughter and I live in North Dakota will that help my daughters chances

help us we are very curious

Yes. If she wants to go out of state. At UVA this summer they told us to move to ND to improve chances of getting in! Of course she still needs the stats, but it helps.

Yes! Not speaking specifically to BC but when we visited east coast colleges geographic diversity was a big deal. I remember one admin person giving a speech at… Wesleyan I think… and bragging about how they had students from all states and that some states were over-represented… and she looked out and said “And if any of you are from Iowa, please come see me after this”! It got a laugh but it was sincere. If she’s a strong academic candidate then coming from an “under represented” state will definitely give her a nice hook with all kinds of out of state schools.

@CaMom13 We heard a similar speech at Elon - and they were looking for kids from ND!

Yes, agree! I think we were at Elon and they have students attending from 49 states, and I think also said something like if you from (one of the Dakotas, so sorry don’t remember which one) please come here, we’d love to have that be 50!

After helping my first daughter through the college application process I honestly told my spouse we needed to move to N Dakota so our youngest had a decent shot at admissions! Let’s just say no schools are looking for more Californians!
