If My SAT Scores Went 1560 to 1670 to 1780, Do I Send All?

Please help!

I jumped 220 points from the first time I took it to the third time I took it...BUT I know for most people on here if they got those scores they would think they're a failure...but those are good for how well I take standerlized tests.....so yeah.

When I'm applying to schools (reaches), should I just send my 1780, or should I send my other ones and show how I improved? Maybe this way when colleges look at it, they won't think "Oh, just a 1780, deny" but instead they might thing "Oh, he improved 220 points...his SAT score is not great, but still a 220 point improvement...."

Maybe?

I don't know, please help!

Unless the schools you’re applying for don’t allow score choice, I would only send the highest. The only reason to send any of the other ones, is if you scored higher in a specific section since the majority of colleges superscore.

But couldn’t they see like “oh, he improved a lot within a year” so he must have tried hard to improve the score?

I don’t know, maybe you’re right.

They don’t study them that hard. They will just see the summary sheet they create for each student, which will have your best score. At least for most schools this is how they work. So it probably doesn’t matter if you send all 3 or just the best, but just in case I would still send just your best.

Just send the best scores unless the school does not participate in score choice. Some schools require that you send all scores while others only want to see your best. It depends on the school. If they don’t specify, I would only send the best ones.

Hm…never though of that…

bump for other opinions?

would it hurt if i sent the scores for all three dates in?

If the schools allow score choice, just send the highest one in. Most schools only take the highest sections, and they won’t consider how high of a jump you had.

Bump again…for the last time.

Just use score choice. I went from an 1810 to a 2110 with no prep over a year, but when I am applying to Ivies, I don’t want them to see anything BUT the 2110, which really is not all that great. :P
