If Paty doesn't notify

I posted this last year -students can get a free 1 year Amazon Prime membership. This will entitle them to free 2 day shipping. The student needs to register using their school e-mail account (an .edu address). The second year membership is at a reduced rate. This is really a great perk to have.

They do not send many advertisements, but will alert you if something similar to a previous purchase is available.

You can also sign up to track your packages and have a text sent to your phone upon arrival. Very Very handy.

If you have two students, you can have one sign up this year (free) and the other student sign up next year (free). You can ship to multiple addresses from one account.

The free Amazon Prime membership has now been reduced to a six month period I believe, but it’s still a fantastic deal. I intend to sign up soon (was waiting until later to make sure it would cover Christmas gift shipping time).

M24 youare correct. It is 6 months now instead of one year. That is how I ordered my son’s ink for his printer. And the package was traced and it indeed was delivered in 2 days. I ordered on a Tuesday afternoon and it arrived at Paty on Thursday morning. Of course they did not notify my son. But that is water under the bridge. Next time he will just go over there without waiting.

Sorry, did not know that they had reduced the time period for free membership. We signed up last year when it was free for a year. Then, this year they offered membership for $39.95 instead of $79.95. For us, it was a good deal as I do a lot of shipping. Just shipping textbooks alone would have been an expense otherwise. By the way, Amazon usually has very good prices for texts, we were able to get new texts for almost the same price of used texts at the SUPE Store. However, there are always some books/pamphlets that can only be purchased at the college bookstore. But, if you can save money on the other items, why not?

Thanks for the advice.

Your welcome, anytime :)
