In my area there are five BS/ Day schools that everyone in the area (local private K-8 schools) applies to. Don’t these schools know that all of the kids apply to all of the schools? Does this affect their decision to accept/ reject? If you are a good candidate for all 5 schools will they all send you an acceptance?
I assume this goes on with the HADES schools all the time - don’t they assume all the same candidates are applying to all of the schools?
I guess I’m asking - is there a chance that one of the schools will say - he/she probably applied to *** school so we don’t need to make an offer.
Yes. It’s called “yield protection.” In the college admissions arena, it’s known as “Tufts Syndrome.” It’s a real thing.
Uggg…Something else to worry about, since ds did not apply to all five of those schools!
Not everyone applies to all the schools in any category - least of all boarding schools. Is there overlap among applicants - sure. DS applied to 4 NE boarding schools - not every school on anyone’s list however you want to rank schools. At this point there is nothing to be gained by what-if thoughts.
Just remember - you only need ONE acceptance to have a good outcome.
Since we live 3 miles from the BS, we put all of our eggs in one basket and it worked out well.
