People semi-familiar with me tend to know that I'm vegetarian, that I'm pretty hardcore about science, that I'm "different", and that I'm strongly individualistic and have no qualms about breaching social norms. And that I used to be really obsessive over this certain (person in history) and this certain institution.

And if they know me over the Internet, they probably know me most of all for Asperger's Syndrome.

(though pre-10th grade I was known for being a very hard worker, and now I'm known for being obsessive about self-studying, to the point of neglecting class for self-study).

I'm tall, I can sometimes be a little crazy, I like to have fun, I take pride in being the class clown, and school is incredibly important too me. There's more, but can't really think of it now...

^^meh, it probably applies for most of us. At my grade school I was known mostly for being perceived as a "genius" even though I'm not one. It feels far less special when you're just labeled as a "genius" and not appreciated for anything else.

^ says the person who thinks she can be the last person to post in the "who's going to be the last person to post in this thread" thread. just kidding. how do you make the smiley with the wink?

by the way, inquilineKea, for some reason, your threads make me laugh

They tend to know that I'm crazy intense about Quiz Bowl, that I'm into girls, that I love basketball, that I'm "smart" (read: I have a good memory and test well), and that I'm sarcastic as hell and really kind of a ***** sometimes.

Asperger’s syndrome is a developmental disorder in which people have severe difficulties understanding how to interact socially.

People with Asperger's syndrome have some traits of autism, especially weak social skills and a preference for sameness and routine. But unlike those with autism, children with Asperger's syndrome usually start to talk around 2 years of age (the age at which speech normally develops). They have normal to above-normal intelligence.

RL people aren't as nerdy as Internet people. not many people in RL have heard about it. but it's that I mention it in my profile. also i'm more open online than offline - people rarely see much of me offline

if you live online, you're going to hear about it sooner or later

Is Aspergers the same thing that the girl on America's Next Top Model had?
[/quote]

Wikipedia or something mentioned that, but I don't know what America's Next Top Model is (aside from the mention on Wikipedia)
