If you are applying to TAMS 2021...

I got in but I’m struggling to decide whether I should go or not. I am valedictorian of my class, interested in Computer Science, and want to get into an ivy league caliber school (for computer science). I’m not sure how beneficial going to TAMS will be for me, anyone have input?

@apocalypze1 Look over this study: https://www.ivyachievement.com/computer-science-rankings/

There are many different ways to evaluate CS programs.

Welp, decided to go bc why not? Hoping to meet some good people in the class of 2021!

As a parent of a child who attended TAMs I strongly suggest that you don’t. My ward had a 35 on her ACT and a National Merit Finalist to boot. And did not get into any selective school. The grading is capricious with many professors out to get you. And regular UNT students hate TAMSters. Furthermore the environment is quite toxic - with widespread reliance on past exams and selecting professors who go easy with grades. Don’t fall prey to the sales pitch from D’Oliveria and the admin. You have a higher chance of being admitted to a selective program from your school than chasing the TAMS route. I for one deeply regret for having encouraged and supported my ward in pursuing TAMs. All the best and we can reconnect in two years to check on your progress and outcomes

@Seema901 Where did you end up going for the rest of your studies? What do you mean by toxic?
