If you become a CPA, should you go for an MBA?

If you become a CPA, and then you go for an MBA, what kind of careers can it lead to? And also if you want to get into a top MBA program, will having a CPA help you?

The adcoms won't go "ooh a CPA! He/She is a professional. Let's admit this person!" Rather, if you get CPA, you will tend to get better (and more prestigious) kind of job, or if you do not, you will be promoted more quicker because CPA certificate is, although common, is a powerful certificate. It shows that you are the master of various Business matters and able to do accounting related things with your eyes closed, left hand tied to the back of the chair while listening to some hardcore rock band and a dozen of 2 year old kids running around the room screaming for their toys. With that certificate, it shows you know what you are doing, and will win your boss's trust and you will be climbing up the corporate ladder lot quicker than someone without any kind of professional certificate.

CPA => Better Job/Quicker Promotion => What MBA adcoms like => Better Chance of getting in.

So the answer is, yes it will help you. However, if your salary/position stays the same as 3 years before, Adcoms will actually grow suspicion toward your credibility. So you are a CPA, you obviously know what you are doing. But then how come you are earning the same salary as some fresh-out-from-college kid with no CPA? That'll actually look worse.
