chemistry ugh

I disagree. As someone that takes the most rigorous course available I want to be recognized for it. I don’t want to be penalized for getting a B in an AP class when I could have gotten an A in study skills.

What do you even need AP Physics for? What do you want to major in, and why is it necessary for you to take it? If you don’t like it, you shouldn’t take it.

AP Calculus. I detest math to begin with, but I really, really detest calculus. I love my teacher too. The material kills me.

Any history class. Boring as heck.

No subject in particular, but just any class in which the teacher a) doesn’t teach, and/or b) gives a lot of busy work.

Some colleges require some form of physics, so I thought, “Hey, why not take something that looks somewhat appealing and easy?”

Personal finance

Spanish. I’m not in AP and the class isn’t even difficult, the teacher just makes us do so much useless crap. Also, AP Lang, because the reading quizzes are way too specific. I get that it’s necessary to make sure we actually read, but some of the questions are just ridiculous and don’t test one’s understanding of the book.

AP Gov.

Literally the first thing they taught us is that young people have no interest in government. I can see why.

Computer Essentials. I don’t need a class to learn how to make words on a Word document centered…

Theory of Knowledge for IB

Pre-calc.

All of my school’s theology classes, except for comparative religions.

AP human geography. kill me now im studying for this awful test.

AP Macro- seems easy but it really is death

AP Chem- I’m trying to talk one of my friends out of taking it on top of AP Bio because I don’t want her to overload next year on top of college apps.

As a math major, they should completely revamp high school geometry (especially how they deal with proofs).

Another class we had in HS that didn’t make much sense for me is (this one may receive a lot of backfire) “21st century skills.” A lot of the class seemed to be “you’re not ready for college” and skills you might need in college and in the future (e.g. problem solving, critical thinking, computer literacy, etc.) without really honing in on those skills. I dropped the class shortly after, my opinion might have changed if I stayed through longer, but I doubt it. Also the class probably varies greatly between schools, so it could be more interesting elsewhere.

@MITer94, I completely agree with you. High school geometry is such a joke, you could do it in 7th grade if you were committed. In fact, I covered a little over 50% of the curriculum on Khan Academy WITHOUT videos in 8th grade.
