Any classes you regret ever taking?

Any classes in your high school year that you wish you've never taken? Any classes that you'd want to replace if you could travel back in time?

One is Graphic Design in 9th grade. The beginning of my "disadvantage" in terms of foreign language. I seriously thought it was going to be related to computers... As a result, I was probably one of the three freshman in our small school who wasn't taking a foreign language class. Why I didn't switch classes when I had the chance, I have no clue.

Another class is Physics. According to the information given to our family (before starting the year at a new school), Physics was mandatory for enrollment in AP Chem. Turns out I would've got into AP Chem without Physics anyway, had I not decided to replace AP Stats with Physics (and my old school emphasized taking two APs in your junior year, with three APs giving you insanity (wimps... :P)). I kind of have some negative attitude against the class that I'm kind of ashamed of... Maybe it's due to most of the class being seniors who are taking the class just for the heck of it (around three who act like/are certifiable idiots). Could've taken one more AP, but no... Doesn't help that a lot of the juniors who I know take around 4 to 6 APs and honors classes.

Sadly, I just don't feel like studying for a Physics test tomorrow. Wow. I sound like a complete jerk, huh? But as a new student, I swear, my chances of making more friends would've increased if I had taken something like APUSH or AP Physics...

Yea, after this year my advice to any public high school student: stay the hell away from computer/technology classes cause you aren't going to learn anything.

I would have taken AP physics instead of reg. physics as well.

And WAY back in middle school I would have actually got higher than a C in pre-alg so I wouldn't now be one year behind and struggling to self-study precalc for the SAT II.

I wish i didn't take 6 ap classes sr yr.

I have to disagree about the computer class thing. I took 2D/3D animation for 2 years and had the teacher who was my graphics arts teacher in the middle school. So, even though I came to hate Maya, it was a great class and she really knows her stuff (she is actually a graphic designer when not at school). However that's the only technology class worth taking because apparently the other ones are intro to Adobe Creative Suite :P

I regret taking Spanish, I should have taken french or latin.

^ I guess that depends on the school, but in my experience the classes I've had were horrible.

I wish I had taken French instead of Spanish. The AP French teacher at my school is REALLY good...The whole 'native speaker from Paris who went to the Sorbonne & got her Ph.D. from Yale' deal, and she has many years of teaching experience in HS and college. The Spanish teachers are decent, but I would have loved to take a class from the French teacher, whom I've heard countless good things about and also seems very well-qualified on paper.

I'd replace Web Design during sophomore year with Astronomy or Introduction to Technical Drawing.

Not a big regret, considering I can take Astronomy during senior year, but still... . Web Design was a waste of an elective.

I regret taking Computer Science 1 during my first semester of my junior year. It was an independent class, so it filled up my only free period. I didn't absolutely need a free period, but it would have been worth more to me to have 45 extra minutes at school every day to do homework rather than an independent programming class where I didn't really learn anything profound.

AP Biology. -_-

I don't know if I would have necessarily would have liked French class more than Spanish class here, but I think I wouldn't want to switch languages in college. I took Spanish thinking that I'd actually learn something, that I'd use it here in Arizona, and that my relatives (some of whom are fluent) could help me if it became too hard. And I was WRONG. My Spanish education has been, by far, the worst education I've received in public school. My teachers were not very knowledgeable and we spoke English in the class a majority of the time. The classes were all too easy and I found the classes after three years completely uninteresting. Now that I'm older, I'm much more interested in France and French culture, I wish I had taken French; however, I've heard an equal amount of horror stories there and French III and Honors French IV are the same class (literally- the school combined the two classes into one.)

Ah. The joys of my crappy public school education in the 49th smartest state. :)

AP BIO!!!!!!!!!!!! It sucks!!!

What's with the AP Bio hate around here? I love my AP Bio class. Sure, it's difficult (I barely have an A in that class now), but I love it because it's small and my teacher is HILARIOUS (she spices up her lectures with lots of humor and interesting factoids. Plus, we have tons of inside jokes.)

I would have stayed the HELL AWAY from spanish. I took through Spanish IV and completely screwed over my GPA by doing do. I took I and II in middle school and my high school required 2 years in high school. I go to a technology magnet, and foreign languages aren't the schools strong suit. They wouldn't let me repeat Spanish I and II since I received As. I would have liked to take a Japanese class, instead of self studying, but they only offered Spanish, French, and German. Spanish just doesn't interest me at all. I would have taken a Japanese class at a college over the summer if I could do it all over again.

My AP Bio class is huge and I just so happen to HATE science classes. Thats why I regret taking it. I should have taken AP Chem cuz the teacher is a push-over and even though I'm pretty sure no one in his class will pass the AP test (our val a couple years back got a 1 on the test and all of her other AP and SAT scores were nearly perfect (even science ones) and she's at an Ivy.) it would have been nice to have an A in a class that looks so chalenging when in fact it is anything but. Oh well, life goes on.

governent. waste of a class.. seriosuly a study hall. not joking.. everyday was me playing cards or reading.

i was really ****ed actually.. i should have taken ap psych!! watever though... just glad to be done high school..well almost like what 3 months left?

Accounting...
I hated adding numbers and getting the right sum(cuz i could never get it)

1) AP Physics B
2) choir, musical theatre

Even if I'm not the most talented person out there, I love singing, but I wish I went the drama route in high school instead of the choir route. I hated the teacher by my second class with her. She's inredibly rude to the students who aren't her favorites the ones with the better voices, and she will actually tell people to their faces "You guys just aren't the best dancers, so don't show up to rehearsal on [day]."

I would have dropped Oral Comp and taken Java instead Freshman year. Oral Comp was taught by the most useless, irritable man ever. -_-'

APAH
10 char

AP Bio: I have a B in it, but half the kids are failing and the teacher doesn't really care. She refuses to curve anything because there's always 1 kid who gets 100 and she doesn't want to take away from him.

I could've taken AP Phys. :( i would have been like 200 times happier (assuming i'm happy)
