If you could, would you pay to get your rank up?

just wonderin :)

I would. $50/rank. Good thing my school doesn't rank though haha.

That's like how the final for my Physics C class is just taking the AP test. Oh, whoop dee doo, $85 for an A.

why no . . . .. .

hmmmm...the little devil on my shoulder says yes, and the angel of my other shoulder says no... idk

:)

if i was like 50th place...i wouldnt' even think about it
if i was 2nd and i wanted 1st i would...but depending how much. i wouldn't pay more than $200 but my parents would definitely pay hundreds

I wouldn't.

I'm #2, but, I know I'm going to catch the #1 girl.

Lol I never even knew my class rank. Apparently you could check them in the same place you check your grades, but they never told kids about that and they never gave them out any other way, so very few people ever saw theirs, I think. I didn't find out about checking it online until after I graduated.

So no, I wouldn't pay to raise my rank. It was probably pretty low anyway and it wouldn't have mattered.

Hmm. I wouldn't. I'm number 2 right now, but probably wouldn't have to pay money to get val by the end of the semester, lol.

No. Not to sound all holier-than-thou, but I'd rather stay #2 than pay to be #1. For one thing, I'm poor. But even if I weren't poor, I don't think I would. There's something about the rank #1 guy in my class that would make you feel very low and rotten if you paid money to displace him in rank. I guess because even if he's kind of arrogant, he's a really honest guy.

nah, I'm already in the top 10%.

No, rank doesn't even matter at my school.

I wouldn't pay 10 cents to get my rank up. MONEY for rank?

god, whom are we kidding here. Some people...

Yeahhh, I don't think rank is really a big deal at all! Especially when the difference between #2 and #5 weighted is .05 points, as it is in my school (me and my boyfriend, respectively. ;)) Colleges know that everyone is pretty close together -- and if you're way at the bottom of your class, you should be worried about your GPA itself, not your rank!

Sometimes I'm glad my school doesn't rank...

I would, no question. Thousand dollars for a better rank is worth it. Too bad it doesn't work that way

Is this some sort of litmus test for stupidity?

"I would, no question. Thousand dollars for a better rank is worth it. Too bad it doesn't work that way"

u think so?

(how do u quote someone?)

School doesn't rank, but prolly not. It might give me a slight edge in admission, but I'm already competitive enough for where I intend to go/apply to, I think, at least where academics are concerned. Having a slightly higher rank wouldn't help me.

Plus, if the little auction was open to the masses, I would get outbid pretty quickly. ;p

If you had asked me 3 years ago, i would have seriously considered it
But now? No way. If I improved rank by any means besides hard work and merit, then I would be robbing the people above me of what they deserve

BUT, If everyone was doing it, and by not paying, I would end up at the very bottom, I would pay to keep my rank where it is now.
