<p>Hey, I was interested if people think I have a decent chance at getting into some of these places: </p>

<p>I know some of the Ivy leagues might be longer shots, but I think they are for everybody. And of course there are plenty of intangibles, but at least at a moment's glance, do you think my resume seems to correspond to the types of colleges I'm looking at. Here's a brief description:</p>

<p>I also have an art portfolio that I think is pretty good, could serve me well.</p>

<p>I guess, in short, the question I'm asking is that if my essays are top notch, recommendations are good, my art portfolio manages to get some attention, and I do slightly better on the SAT in a couple days (raising my critical reading score), do you think I have a decent shot? Thanks.</p>

<p>A Perfect writing score looks great, but some schools place more focus on English and Math- raise your SAT as much as you can, especially the reading (like you’re planning to).</p>

<p>For the ivies and other top-tier schools, your extracurriculars don’t stand out, and your class rank is worse off than most of the applicants. You probably have a slim chance right now, raise your SAT to a 2300+ and you will be competitive. For lower tier schools, your extracurriculars are probably above average.</p>

<p>I think UT Austin is automatic admission at a 2100 SAT score? I would double check that, but I would be completely shocked if you didn’t make it in. If anything, that will be a safety school.</p>

<p>thanks, appreciate the feedback. but yeah, I get into UT Austin automatically since I’m in the top 8% but my school doesn’t report class rank anyways. I also have legacy at Cornell, which is a plus I guess. As long as I get into one of those schools, besides UT Austin, I’m happy…We’ll see.</p>

<p>I think you’d get into GWU no doubt! Though, like i tell everyone, someone i knew with exactly your stats (if not higher) was waitlisted for some reason (possible interest or crappy essays). Good luck!</p>
