If you don't make it into Harvard, don't sweat it [Article]

A great article... If for some reason you don't get in, don't sweat. Read the article. Feel better, because a Harvard acceptance ,or any ivy for that instance, is not make or break.

Who Needs Harvard? - Brookings Institution

Enjoy :D!

i dont need harvard… i want it >_<

^badly 10char

^
want it badly ∞

all 30,000 of us want it, but only 2000 of us get it.
and i’m in the same boat… but a rejection will not cause tears. BE STROOONNNGGG!! hehe

^
i truly hope that most of the folks here on CC that weve talked to gets accepted…
it would be awesome if so.

That was a great article, whoaness. And definitely one I’ll keep in mind tomorrow, though I pray for the absolute best for all of us. ;]

^^Hopefully, it is not similar to the MIT killing of CC dreams!

i will be honest. i wont put my hopes us… i was devastated by the stanford rejection. since then, i really stopped caring much…
although, i have been praying much lately asking for a miracle… i asked God for either Princeton or Harvard, otherwise, i would go to Berkeley

Neonseri - My observation is that Harvard and Yale must be the two most similar universities in America. That’s why they have such a rivalry - they’re fraternal twins who like to pick on one another. If you’re already in at Yale, you don’t need to feel devastated. For that matter, if you’re in at Berkeley it’s all good too!

^ i dont really care for Yale… i only applied because some family members went there… there i have an advantage. and i cant say really say this about harvard or princeton…

also, when i visited yale, i didnt get a good vibe about it… i dont see myself living there for the next few years…

this is contrary towards my feelings about harvard and princeton.
harvard, i loved the cambridge-boston area… i felt so sophisticated in the area for some reason…
princeton, i loved the campus so much.

Oh, I’m sweating it. I’m sweating goddamn depleted uranium tipped bullets.

im kinda worried about tomorrow. accepted or rejected…

accepted:
ive told some CC people that id buy them some cinnabons if i get accepted (provided they get accepted as well)

denied:
id be sad, question self’s worth for a minute, etc…

I’ll buy everyone a canoli at Mikes in Boston if I get accepted. No lie. If you haven’t had a canoli at Mikes, you have yet to experience Boston.

^ i used to make cannolis for my coworkers… i bake alot :D

^ That’s excellent. Maybe you can show the guys at Mike’s a thing or two.

i probably contributed to some of my coworker’s weight gain… hehe. i make brownies too from scratch… its healthier that way :D

-brownies from scratch? ugh! I never had much success with those. I think I’ll stick with Betty Crocker, or Cinnabons and cannolis if I get accepted.

^ Same with me. I know I’ll be upset if I don’t get in, but it won’t be the end of the world. Have I worked for it all my life? Yes. But am I going to let it ruin me? Hopefully not.

I guess I just wish the best for everyone, even though I just joined these forums. xD

I won’t be upset; I only applied because my father asked me to. The optional essay I wrote was satisfactory, but not my greatest.

If it were between a Canadian one and Harvard, I’d choose the Canadian one (mainly due to the fact that there’s alot of competition at Harvard, and competing with kids out of my league is not my favorite thing to do.)
