<p>If Davis was your first choice, I would appeal since your rejection doesn't make much sense. Yeah, I know, the UC's claim that they won't take an appeal, but they do process a few each year. Write a great letter on why you belong at Davis, include any new awards/honors, and ask your GC or teacher to write you a rec. The worst that will happen is, 'sorry...'</p>

<p>this is pretty messed up. it seems that this year UCD has gone hyperactive with their tufts alert and is rejecting perfectly good students left and right who really really want to go here.</p>
<p>i think to avoid this the UC should put a priority ranking option on their application (note: optional). i think it's important you be able to explicitly tell the UC you want to go that you're not applying there simply because you know you can get in.</p>
<p>it's a little disheartening watching these high stats people who really want to go to davis slip through the cracks.</p>
<p>i'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but what's the Tufts Alert?</p>
