Same as the title. Meanwhile, I also received several scholarship from Davis, but I am wondering that is that mean I got admitted to UCD or UCB or not
@Kevin19970520 Just curious, how did you find out that you received a scholarship from Cal?
What kind of scholarship? Merit based or need based?
If you’re talking about Regent’s then yes it’s a very good sign considering they only invite the top 2-5% of candidates based on grades and “personal achievements.” Cal even explicitly states that a Regent’s invite is an acceptance. But since UCLA and Berkeley have yet to send out Regent’s scholarship invites for transfers yet, I’m assuming you’re talking about the Cal Alumni Association scholarship? In which case that particular scholarship has no bearing on your admission.
Berkeley sends regents announcements after admissions notices. Unless they’ve changed this year.
Yes I am talking about the Cal Alumni scholarship
@ridiarte I dont know how did I recevied the email from Cal.
@ericbadmon I received the Cal Alumi scholarship email, but have received the Regent scholarship for Davis. Does it mean I got admitted to Davis and not sure for Cal right?
Alumni email simply means they’re asking you to apply, right? Anyway not connected with admissions.
@Kevin19970520 Nope I got the regents mail from Davis and was waitlisted. I honestly wouldn’t assume anything for your insanity’s sake
@tondiafra Dude are you serious?? That’s crazy. I almost never hear about that happening. Cuz when you get selected you’re supposedly the top 2-5% of the candidates.
@ericbadmon Yep, kinda depressing to know that haha.
Stuff:
Major: Computer Science
GPA: 4.0
Applied: UCD, UCSD, UCLA, UCB
IGETC: Completed
Major requirements: Not completed (think this is mostly why). Missing Calc III and the last 2 physics courses
Personal insights: 8/10? Had them checked multiple times by a UCB transfer coordinator and one time by a UCB admissions officer
ECs: English, Maths, and CS Tutor, UCB Summer Enrichment Program participant (1 of ~30 selected from CCCs to take a course at UCB free of charge over the summer. Ended up withdrawing because I wasn’t doing so hot and am cognizant of the 3.3 GPA required to declare for the CS major. My only W), UI/UX designer for a trading journal project, member of psychology and CS clubs, etc. Not great honestly
I did clearly favor UCB though in my PIQ about how you were prepared for upper-divs.
@tondiafra yeah it’s definitely the prereqs. Tho I thought that they screen for those before sending out the invites. Who knows, maybe the people in charge of sending the invites didn’t catch on to the missing prereqs.
@tondiafra I got admitted to Davis today, so it might be true that you receive the regent email you will be admitted to that school.
If you’re talking about the CAA email, I think everyone who applied got that email. Regents should come out after decisions are out.
@ughstress really? I thought it might be a sign that I got admitted. Thanks
this thread talks about it, also a lot more active than the UC transfer page
