Just curious, if one of your parents or guardians is a professor at Cornell, does that affect your chances of getting in? If so, how much? Thanks.

if you had a parent who was a professor at cornell i'm sure they would be able to tell you. why do you care?

My friend's dad is professor at Columbia and he goes there for free. He also got in entirely because of his father.

im sure the student must have been competent to some extent. Having a parent work for a university will help but it wont be the thing that will get u in. The admissions officers will probably give the app an extra look that they usually would not do and give it extra consideratino depending on whose child it is.
