If you post it, they will chance...? (MIT, Harvard, Stanford, and realistic options)

Hi all. I appreciate any input and/or advice on how to improve my application. If you want me to chance back, I’ll gladly do so, but I’m really not such an expert. If any additional info is needed for some reason, just let me know.

Senior next year
White Jewish Male
Medium sized (~3000 students) public high school in S. Florida
GPA: Unweighted (4.0), weighted (5.6 or so…my school weights in some ridiculous way, so I don’t think colleges will put too much stock in this)
Ranking: unknown (school doesn’t rank, they may for colleges. Should be top ten, hopefully top five or higher, but I’m uncertain due to the crazy weighted GPA system of my school)
SATI: 2320 (800 R, 790 M, 730 W)
SATII: Physics (790), Math II (800), Chemistry (780-800 projected)
PSAT: 228
APs: World (5), Euro (5), Lang (5), Psych (5), American (should be 4-5), Lit (should be 4-5).
Taking Calc BC next year
IB exams: Physics SL and Math SL (Should be 6-7); taking Chem HL, Spanish HL, Contemporary History HL, and English HL next year.
Dual Enrollment Classes: College Algebra (summer after 9th to advance my math level), Abnormal Psychology, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics (all after 11th)

EC stuff:
Model UN (VP 11th, president 12th)

-We won the local geography bee last year. Yay.
Amnesty International Club (member 9th-12th)
Chess Club (member 11th-12th)*yeah, this isn’t noteworthy…but I’m a nerd, what can I say?
Science Honor Society (Treasurer 11th) *
due to horrible communication, this club was basically defunct and probably won’t exist next year, so should I even mention this?
IB Student Government (VP 12th)
Member of “Euro Challenge” Team which placed in local rounds and was flown to NYC for semifinals (a competition regarding economics in the European Union)
Torah/haftarah reader at local synagogue
Not so much community service…volunteered at a fundraiser for Darfur and helped out with a bake sale for starving children.
Attended Stanford EPGY for Particle Physics minicourse (summer after 10th grade)
Attended weeklong program at local university about National Security

A few little awards:
Computer Programming student of the year (9th)
AP Eng. Lang student of the year (10th)
AP Psych student of the year (10th)
IB Physics student of the year (11th)
Rensselaer Medal (11th)
Bunch of MUN awards; most noteworthy, a “Best Delegate” award at the Brown University MUN conference.
Should be National Merit semifinalist

Recs and essays should be good.

I went through a bit of an ugly period during freshman and sophomore year. Basically, my mother became addicted to drugs and psychotic, resulting in about a year of hellish home life and culminating in my parents’ divorce. I feel somewhat guilty exploiting personal issues to help me get into colleges, but this has contributed significantly to my character, and it is something of an adversity I overcame, so I suppose I’ll write a pretty good essay about it.

Colleges of interest:
Harvard
MIT
Stanford
Cornell
University of Chicago
NYU
Washington U @ St. Louis
Emory
Rensselaer
UF
College list is subject to change but that gives a good idea of it. I’m undecided on my major as of yet. Many kudos if you’ve read this far, and extra thanks if you reply!
