If you want to be chanced or are bored, come play the ultimate game!

Alright, I’m bored and want to pass the time. at the same time I want to do away with chance threads, so I’ve developed a game. Here are the premises:

I will list my stuff first (copy my format please).

The first person to respond will give me my chances and then post his/her stats.

The next person to respond will give that person his/her opinion on that applicant’s chances and then list his/her stats. In this way the chain will continue. And here…we…go!

Comments? I’ve got a shot, as long as the admissions committee sees me as distinguishably unique from many other people (which, despite my high grades and test scores will be very hard considering 29,000 people applied.)

mr peyton you forgot to chance mal77, who has an approximately 13pi% chance of getting in, solely because of his experience at Chip and dales, seeing how that revolutionized his paradigm on life. Congratulations mal for being able to experience that, and Im sure Harvard hopes that you will continue your work at the college.

Peytoncline, i think you’ve got as good a shot as anyone else. Which means basically nothing lol since yeah 29,000 people applied. But dont be stunned if you get in.

comments: sent in supplementary material- CD recording of my voice- figured it could only make me stand out a teensy bit more?? Prob should of taken SATs again . . .

congrats on Stanford. Honestly, insofar as chances can mean anything, your acceptance there is probably a better indicator of chances at Harvard than anything else could be.

you never know… if stanford saw something, anything is possible! that’s awesome! your hooks may help, and leadership in your class is good. what’s your class rank? i’m assuming your gpa is weighted so UW i don’t really know

EDIT: oops somebody beat me. well, soserene, obviously your academics stand out :). i say you have as good a chance as any of us. hopefully that CD will really help you!

AP/IB/College courses: 7 AP tests total by the end of this year, one college class online through local state university… I spent my junior year in France and did extremely well by their standards and was one of the top kids in my class there… also performed well in their national exams and got a leg up on my intended major by taking a French polisci elective, which was a lot of fun
ECs: Young Democrats, JSA, French Club, piano, NHS, French & Math Quiz Bowl, extensive political volunteering w/ leadership/management responsibility (turned down fulltime internship w/ Obama campaign - would’ve required taking a semester off from school and I couldn’t juggle it)

Comments: Penn likely? it doesn’t mean anything but hey, I was stoked.

Hey! Penn likely says a lot IMO. Anyways, I can see why you got a likely. I think you have pretty unique experiences and you have great grades and scores. It must have been hard to turn down that opportunity with Barack Obama’s campaign.

Everybody else here has so many unique things… I have no hooks and feel quite embarrassed to put up my stats.

School type and rigor: Somewhat competitive public
Hooks (URM, 1st gen, etc): None… infact, I am asian, so that would be an anti-hook :frowning: Also, my dad was pretty much the perfect student (rumoured to have never missed a point in HS O.o). He was also second in the nation based on his test scores (again rumor has it that he took the test with a broken arm…) . So, compared to his accomplishments, I pretty much failed x(
Comments? I am REALLY bored… Wish it was Spring/Summer break. I think I have the typical asian things, which will probably be my demise. Hope my essay will change that tho…

uh sir, you have a 36 act, 2330 satIIs, sci olympiad, 10aps, aime, ap scholar, and are asian. Thou shouldst be proudst.

lol, thanks. But, really, not as many things to be proud of as many of you guys.

Work/Community Service: Played piano at my church for the past 6 years

Hooks (URM, 1st gen, etc): URM (Puerto Rican)
Comments? waiting is lame.

adrivit, does your school educate in English or in your native language?

Your SAT scores are impressive considering you’re an international applicant. Is English your first language or second, or even third? :)

@reptil: My school educates in English. We speak Bengali at home, so that can be called as my native language. In India, many have that kind of SAT scores really, nothing special.

aha, okay, because if you were to be educated in Bengali and have those SATs it would be really impressive :)

^ no chancee me? T.T
