Georgetown is more prestigious... Yes, it does matter for what I want to do. Therefore, I would pick Georgetown over ND any day.

ND has much stronger alumni network.

ND in a heartbeat! Much cleaner, friendlier place.Beautiful, safe campus.Only a little over an hour from one of the world's greatest cities-Chicago.School spirit and alumni networking defy description.Any school that offers a major like the Program of Liberal Studies(ND's Great Books Program) has to be great.Virtually every athletic team at ND is nationally ranked. What's not to love about the place!

However, my parents have said "no" to going to school in DC or NYC
[/quote]
No offence, but that's ridiculous!

DC I can kinda sorta understand because it's got bad crime figures (although it's completely safe in the right neighborhoods/hours), but NYC is one of the safest cities in the country, and has been for a decade! The only thing you have to fear these days in NYC is hyperactive investment bankers stealing your restaurant reservations. Oh noes!

It's not hard to be ranked when you're sports program is one of the most storied in the nation.

They do have the best fight song though, I love it!

"It's not hard to be ranked when you're sports program is one of the most storied in the nation."

This makes no sense...rankings are for this year, and for a specific sport. Not that I agree w/ coaches polls in most sports, but they are for the current year. I dont think Notre Dame's golf team will be ranked in the top 25 for the achievements of the football team 30 years ago. Notre Dame sports have many top 25 teams because they have many sports that have top 25 talent right now, not because they have a lot of tradition. It may be easier for ND to be ranked due to big east conference affiliation in many sports, but this certainly doesnt apply to football, nor lacrosse where ND plays in a pretty weak conference.

Well, I made this choice...and I'll be a hoya in the fall. ND was SO hard to turn down because I think I actually loved it more. I just couldn't pass up DC and the vibe I got at Georgetown's admit weekend. Both are fantastic schools.

I turned down Notre Dame once (for grad school). I regret it every Saturday in the fall when I hear that fight song.

"but this certainly doesnt apply to football"

Yes it does. The media is always riding Notre Ame. They dropped the ball against good teams in the regular season, yet still got invited to play LSU in the BCS Bowl game. Notre Dame football has been constantly overrated by the media, when was the last time they won a bowl game?

I really don't see how beating Army and Navy every year yet loosing the schools like USC and Michigan warrant a BCS bowl bid. But hey, they've had some solid recruiting classes, so maybe they won't need the medias help to get em there anymore.

they didnt deserve the BCS, thats obvious, but they obviously deserved to be in the top 25, which is all the discussion was talking about..they were eligible for the BCS and when youre notre dame and youre eligible you make it

Well, my fault for wording it wrong. Anyways, I don't really hate Notre Dame, it just annoys me that they, well nevermind. I have a feeling Clausen is going to turn out like his older brothers.

A playoff system would make everyone happy and I'll leave it at that.
