IF you were the President

^ I’ve seen Sci-Fi premises like that. It usually has disastrous results.

^ I know, which is why I’m gonna lean away from it. Well there’s has to be a way to weaken the power of these groups, or stop them from gaining too much influence.

@Choco: It’s hard to say because they obviously don’t tell us all the details of everything that’s going on. [Michael Yon’s blog](http://www.michaelyon-online.com/) is a good place to read about the situation on the ground, without the military PR or political agenda.

I’d probably try to do crazy things that would get me labelled as stupid. For example, I’d try to get Congress to pass a constitutional amendment that would explicitly prohibit the federal government or any state from basing laws on morals (as opposed to the protection of individual rights). And I think I’d probably also try to make it impossible to start a war without a referendum (or, at the very least, and probably more practically, leave the power to start a war with the government but require it to take a binding public vote within a month or so).

And everything franticpizza said as well, but mostly those two. I’m never gonna be president though, so all you god-fearing republicans have nothing to worry about. =)

Lol, republicans. Democrats are not the greatest either.

I lean dem though.

^ I only support the republicans because of the democrats.

I support supporters of Wall Street.

I once went with an entire communist joke for the day, and nearly got beat up by fascists.

Everyone hates on Fascism because it’s associated with Nazis. Given, Fascism comes in several different flavors, and a lot of them are absurd, racist, or otherwise undesirable.
