If you would be so kind: Chance me!

Hi,

Before I begin listing off my stats, I would just like to point out that the theme of my application was novelty and innovation.

SATs:
Writing: 610
Reading: 610
Math: 680

GPA: 3.334 UW, Weighted would probably be about 3.5 or 3.6
Class Rank: (brace yourself) about top 50% (our GPA runs the 4 point system and I always got 89%s)

Took all the AP classes possible. Even took honors for some classes that didn't offer AP.

EC:
Sound and Lighting technician at the local adult choir.
Heavy participation at Church and in local Youth Group. 5-6 years.
Violin for 12 years.
Local charity events: Soup kitchens, vocational bible camp for kids, etc.
Recreational Golf team (created by me)
Freshman Vice President/ASB

Work related EC:
Freelance Computer technician
Freelance Photography
Cinematographer (for fun)
Youtube Partner (shameless promotion here: Skatexplanation's Channel - YouTube)

Paper topics:
Common App:
Personal Statement; Steve Jobs helped me realize that I had a passion for innovation w/ two examples of unique creations and how it ties in with my personality
Description of EC: Youtube partnership is fun and allows for full creative reign over my material. Niche marketing, (insert jargon here), etc.

Supplements:
1. Why Lehigh
Business and engineering are useful when separate, indispensable when together.
2. What class would I make mandatory?
Zen Gardening. Encourages peace, relaxation, concentration, and meditation. Crucial in times of personal chaos. Lasting life lessons.

And that's it! Let me know how I did! Feel free to link me to your "chance mes" as well!

Your SAT scores are pretty much within range for lehigh, and your ECs are really good. The youtube partner shows that you have other activities/hobbies and should definately help you. Your gpa and rank is a little on the low side, but your senior year AP classes and ECs should make up for it. Not to mention the interesting essays you wrote about. Overall, I think you have a good shot for Lehigh  Did you apply EDII?
Can you check out my chance me please?

Hey FakeSteez,

I’ll go item-by-item through what you gave me, and I’ll be as honest as I can:

Your SATs are on par for a Lehigh student. Unfortunately, your rank and GPA are below average. This doesn’t necessarily seal your fate.

Your extracurricular involvement is impressive, and your film work make you a unique applicant. Your essay topics are really interesting too.

I can’t really say for sure about your chances. It depends on if you applied RD or ED and what college you’re aiming for. If you’re going for Engineering, it’s a maybe. Business, it’s also a maybe. Arts and Sciences, probably yes.

Good luck,

Thanks for the feedback!

I am in fact an ED applicant.

Also, I mentioned that I was “undecided” in my application because I didn’t want to accidentally apply to an area of interest that is already heavily in competition.
However, I do plan to major in electrical engineering and minor in business (enterprise management).

Accepted!!!

Wow, congratulations. Welcome to Lehigh! I had a feeling that if you applied ED you might get in.

If you’ve got anymore questions, feel free to ask me.
