IGETC Area 4

I'm having some difficulty interpreting:

[quote]

Three courses from at least two disciplines, or an interdisciplinary sequence.

I was planning on taking:
[ul]
[] Principles of Sociology
[] General Psychology I
[li] Abnormal Psychology[/li][/ul]

Does the interdisciplinary sequence mean taking 2 courses from the same area such as two from Psychology or two from Sociology, etc?

I’m not too sure about the meaning of “interdisciplinary studies” in regards to the IGETC (I’m assuming it’s interchangeable with “two disciplines”), but taking 1 Psyc, 2 Soc would fulfill Area 4 requirements.

Alright. So 1 Psych course, along with 2 Sociology courses should do it? If that’s the case then I’m guessing it means as long as you take 2 courses within the same discipline and another course of a different discipline then the area will be fulfilled.

Can anyone confirm this?

yep^ three diff courses, two diff areas. for example i did hist 17a and 17c in History and then I did wmst8 in Ethnic Studies. Therefore I have satisfied the requirement!

ye, those 2 psyche and 1 sociology covers the Social/Behavioral IGETC Area 4 three course requirement

Alright. Thanks.
