<p>Remember, he is not saying “don’t go to theatre grad school”, he is saying, “here are some BAD reasons to go to theatre grad school, if these are your reasons for going to theatre grad school you probably should reconsider”.</p>
<p>He doesn’t list one GOOD reason for going to grad school–an MFA is a terminal degree, and can therefore get you a job in a university faculty. It also seems to me that someone who got their undergraduate degree is some field other than theatre, but now wants to go into theatre, might want to get an MFA so that they have some formal training. But this would be more for the training itself than the degree.</p>
