IIT CompE or Purdue CS 20years from now???

IIT CompE or Purdue CS 20years from now???
For my undergrad degree...

I like designing and computer architectural interfaces...things to do with the UI also I would like to work with alternative CPU's and GPU's for the next 20 years as well as motherboard designing and quantum loop holes with quantum computing/programming....Also I would like to learn more about thermal resistors and also heat reduction or cooling processes.
But the main thing is really just the quantum programming and SS hardware designs

IIT offers a nice 5 year program so I graduate with a masters
Purdue I have could take a 5 year program more rigorous but in the end it is somewhat repetitive but might be worth it to polish my skills...I think its if you meet their expectations you get masters, if not you stay another year and then you get it.

Future goal is actually doing international business with OS/Kernel and or software integration stuff.

Where would you choose if you were an IL resident???

Post comments and thank you

If that is actually your goal then you should do CS probably.

If you want to work with CPU/GPU/motherboards then CompE or EE.

Since you expressed an interest in hardware design in addition to programming you should probably go with CE unless you're not really 'that' interested in the hardware side. You have no idea what your interests will be or what you'll be doing 20 years from now so be more concerned about the first few years of your career and then see where your interests and career takes you. Keep in mind that your interest areas can easily change while you're in college pursuing your degree. You don't need to plan out your next 20 years now. Check out the CE/CS programs at the colleges you're interested in and see what excites you the most.

Both colleges have both CE and CS.

The thing is that.....both of them excite me but also I want to develop skills on both sides without majoring in both as it will be somewhat of a hassle...also the thing i want to work on too is looking for an alternative for silicon.

CompE will give you a good exposure in both hardware and software.

where do you think i should go to get better exposure if I want to get my masters?

IIT is way better than Purdue. I would say you should go for CompE at IIT. You will get programming and hardware exposure, and companies will drool over your resume.

Darn, I was hoping to see 20 years form the original post…

I feel a Cubs joke coming up

lol, I never notice the dates

I wonder where @itoushiro ended up choosing and where he is…creepy
