If you evaluate my stats, I'll evaluate yours if you want me to.

SAT I: 2250 (V760 M690 W800)
SAT II: Lit: 740 US History: 680
US History AP: 4
GPA: 3.85 or so UW, 4.42 W
Class rank: 7/158 (top 5%)
(Freshman year I took 2 non-honors classes, other than that I've taken all honors or APs. I'm now taking 4 APs and 1 honors. My grades have a slight upward trend) In my past 3 years of high school I've gotten a total of 4 Bs- (2 freshman year, 1 each sophomore and junior year)

I've taken math, science, foreign language, and English all four years of high school.

ECs:
Lots of community service, all 4 years (quite a few hundred hours)
A few awards from my school (best in subject stuff)
A lot of awards from marketing competitions (all four years)
Very involved in music, in school and out (all four years)
Very involved in drama club (all four years)
Student council 2 years (other than that, not much leadership)
Debated/judged for 3 years
Work full time for 2 summers, and I just started working part time in September

I'm a good writer, but I usually hate my work. I'm unable to evaluate my essays and I'm much to shy to let anyone else read them. My reccommendations should be okay, but not outstanding. Nothing bad but nothing so good, either.

My list: (in no particular order) I'm planning on narrowing it down a bit
UChicago
Vassar
Wesleyan
Rice
Brown
Case Western
Beloit
Oberlin
U of New Hampshire
Northwestern
Stanford
Skidmore
Cornell

The best advice I can give you is have someone read your essays, even if it's your Mom/Dad. Stats are good, EC's aren't bad...you're in good shape.

I would say:
UChicago - match
Vassar - safe match
Wesleyan - slight reach
Rice - slight reach
Brown - reach
Case Western - safe match
Beloit - ?
Oberlin - safe match
U of New Hampshire - safety
Northwestern - match
Stanford - reach
Skidmore - ?
Cornell - slight reach

try to improve ur SAT math... other than that, ur pretty good for standardized testing
good job on writing!!!
ethnicity?

cant tell entirely because i dont know that much about all these schools and ur awards/leadership but my best guesses are....

UChicago--probably?
Vassar--?
Wesleyan--?
Rice--probably?
Brown--probably not
Case Western--yep
Beloit--??
Oberlin--dont know
U of New Hampshire--??
Northwestern--probably
Stanford--doubt it
Skidmore--dont know
Cornell--maybe
Duke--maybe

but AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! How did you go from M690 to M790?!? That's disgusting!!!! (I mean that in a good way) You have inspired me to study more. It's probably impossible, though, because my M690 was pulled up from a 600. :(

You would be in a better postion if your math was at least 700 (it does make a difference especially with the reach schools you are considering (Duke, Northwestern, Cornell, brown, cornell)

I will definitely work on my math. I applied to UChi early action and really want to go there, so if I get in, I probably won't retake the SATs, but a deferral or rejection will mean more studying.

Anyway, we're now up to 251 views and 4 responses. That's a measly 1.6% response rate. You're measly, you lazy non-responders! Ok, sorry for the lack of sleep. Really, please say something even if its stupid. And I love everyone who has responded so far :)

I should have mentioned it before, but I'm white.

The response rate is now down to 1.4%. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Spread some holiday cheer and give me the gift of a response! It doesn't even need to be nice or positive. Pretty please?

also... what are some good safeties for me? U of NH is definitely a safety, but I really don't want to go there. If I have to, I will, and I'll probably be pretty happy. Does anyone have any suggestions for schools I'd really LOVE?

Stambliark, I almost cried when you said Vassar is a safe match. I am in LOVE with that school (almost applied ED). I'm so glad you think it's a safe match, but it's still not a safety. What I really need is just one school that I WILL get into, and will love (almost as much) as my matches and reaches.

UChicago - match
Vassar - low match
Wesleyan - match/reach
Rice - reachable reach
Brown - reach
Case Western - safe match
Beloit - Never heard of this one...
Oberlin - safety/match
U of New Hampshire - safety
Northwestern - match
Stanford - high reach
Skidmore - ...Or this one
Cornell - reach
