Illinois ACT Thread. Silverturtle, want to help get a full list? = D

^ I said something along the lines of filmmaker had more responsibilities/more involvement or something.

It seemed as though the Reading section had far more pull-it-straight-from-the-passage questions than the SAT.

Was the answer to the science question about the units on R “R has no units”

@ silverturtle

The ACT is pretty much majority right-there questions with a few easy inferences. The only thing that makes it hard is the time limit.

I agree with Swimfan on the r1 r2 problem. Tan of angleABC = (r1)/(r1+r2). tan of the other angle was (r2)/(r1+r2). Subtract the latter from the former and you would get (r1-r2)/(r1+r2) because of common denominator .

And I chose the same answer as cribelle on the filmmaker vs. director question

Also, I noticed that the Reading section repeatedly mis-modified gerunds in their answer options.

Yep, it did.

What did everyone get on the abs(x) less than or equal to x on the math?

I found a grammatical error in the English section (didn’t have to do with answers though). I was shocked!

@Kanan57

I got everything to the right of zero on the number line (all positive numbers) and zero as shaded.

^Lol, looks like you had high expectations.

What did everyone get on the abs(x) less than or equal to x on the math?

^ The one with all positives & 0.

Was this (E)? I believe I selected that.

Contradicting replies XD I chose the same thing as cribelle (again :P) But that one was really bugging me. I wonder if our precalc teacher should have gone over inequalities with us, hahahaha

Edit: Okies then  I had changed my answer to E at the last second ^^ Thank goodness

What about the dark matter question about visible matter. Most of the answers started with “Visible matter is the most abundant but…”

Anyone know the answer to the one about pushups per week.

I believe I put 5w+20.

Push-ups per week was 5w+20 because 20 is the initial amount and he does 5 more every week. I think that was the second choice? Not sure.
