There's an ILR event today (Monday June 8th) in NYC. I went last year and it was great. It's a fantastic way for incoming students to meet current students and alumni. Here is the info:

On behalf of the alumni, we want to ask you to help us welcome the next wave of incoming students. You should be very proud of your achievement of being a part of the ILR School. Believe it or not, we are a fairly small group. Since the Schools inception in 1945, there have been just under 12,000 graduates. The good news is that the small number stems from the Schools small size, not a bad omen that only some of you will graduate. You also will soon learn that graduates of the ILR School have had incredible success in a broad range of careers.

As the incoming students prepare for the start of this great adventure, we would like to invite you to join other current students, various ILR alumni and incoming freshmen and transfer students from the NYC Metropolitan area at a the ILR Welcome event. The Schools Dean, Harry Katz, also will be there to greet you!

So mark your calendars for Monday, June 8, 2009. The reception is free and will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Cornell ILR Metropolitan Office, which is located at 16 East 34th Street (between Madison and 5th Avenues). Business casual attire is encouraged.
