I'm still a freshman and am currently enrolled in a general chem weeder course that is an absolute nightmare. Not to mention I hate labs which only makes the course more annoying. I still haven't taken an actual biology course though and this has me on the fence of either switching my major or waiting around.

I'm sure I'm not the only rookie bio major that once felt like this, any advice?

I hated labs and still finished a biochem major pretty painlessly. It’s possible. What do you want to do after college with your degree?

I wouldn’t recommend you switch majors based on a chem course, though. There are much better reasons to switch than that.

I want to go into pharmacy which brings up more doubts considering chem isn’t my forte

I wouldn’t really change my major because of one course, but it also won’t help to have a negative mindset and you start doing poorly which of course is going to affect you negatively. Labs are kind of inevitable in science majors, and if you want to go into Pharmacy then you are going to have to do labs. If you feel very strongly about this then maybe you should consider switching your major, because it is only going to get harder.

I also hate labs and am horrible at them, but I really enjoy the actual research that I am doing in physics. Research (and full time jobs) are probably not going to be anything like an undergraduate chem lab. Look into getting into a research lab, then decide if you don’t like the work.
