I'm a junior - How am I doing for an application?

I'm a junior, and I was just wondering how I'm looking and compare with some of you guys.

GPA: UW (as of end of soph): 3.5 <- going up
W (as of end of soph): 4.7 <- going up
This years grades: Straight A's 1st quarter, 2 B's 2nd Q, Straight A's 3rd Q (Probably straight A's for final grades).

This yrs classes: AP Calc AB, AP Eng, AP USH, G/T (equiv. to other schools' honors), G/T Photo, Tech (required), Health (required semester), SAT Prep (semester)

Next Yr: AP Calc BC, AP Bio (2 periods), AP Econ, AP Eng, AP Photo, French 2/3? (I need some more foreign lang)

Rank: 50ish/385 (weighted) <- going up

SAT: 640V/720M/650W = 2010 (first try)... I should have 2100+ composite next try.

EC: NHS (inducted soph yr, Executive Board next year, potentially treasurer), SGA General Body, JCL (2 yrs), Ski Club (1 yr), Boy Scouts (Life - gonna get eagle), Work Camp 2 Yrs (Helping build/Help in impoverished areas), Youth Group, Bible Camp Helper (2 yrs) then Physical Activities Coordinator (1 yr - ran it myself), Guitar, V Golf Team (3 yrs) Captain (1 yr), JV Lacrosse (2yrs), JV Wrestling (1 yr), other stuff I really cant think of atm.

Awards/Honors: 3rd in County Novice Tournament - Tournament for Fresh/Soph (Freshman year), Inducted NHS, Scholastic Art+Writing Contest - Gold Key Regional for Photography(being reviewed now for national), Breakfast of Champions honoree (school thing), other stuff I cant think of...

Ok.. as for the schools I'm most interested in: UVa (Legacy - 50% accept), Wake Forest, Dartmouth (grandfather is alumnus), Colgate, UNC Chapel Hill, Davidson, William and Mary, Bucknell, and the list is growing... (pretty much top 30 schools on east coast)

Your ECs and test scores look fine. I would concentrate on bringing up your grades/class rank. You have a good list of schools, maybe a little top-heavy with reaches, but a good start. You may also want to consider Lehigh in PA, Elon in NC, and Washington and Lee in VA.

You said you're looking at the top 30 schools. Let's say your rank/scores/etc. stay the same between now and when you apply. How many schools are you planning on actually applying to?

Yea I visited W&L, didn't really like it too much, and I also drove through Elon, which I thought was so-so. As for applying... probably around 10 schools, and hopefully where I get in will help me to decide where I go.
