I delved into schoolwork at an early age because I never was good at sports or talking with people. I thought I would find people like me.
However, everyone says that I am too obsessed with my interests, particularly with theoretical astrophysics. I am also obese and have no coordination. What should I do? I guess I don’t fit into the 9-5 reality.
Well, if you are a senior, seeing it’s new years day, make a new years promise yourself to try to do more. Maybe start slow. Each day, take 15 minutes to do something out of your comfort zone. Walk somewhere and back (15 minutes) to get some exercise. Or go to the coffee shop at the main entrance of MIT and sit there for 15 minutes and drink a coffee and people watch. Make yourself do it every day. 15 minutes won’t kill you. Every couple of weeks add 15 minutes to your “you time”. My son was pretty heavy going into high school and cold turkey decided to start running. He lost a bunch of weight, and he’s been running ever since. It actually encouraged me to do the same. I was heavy and had crappy knees, now I run 5 days a week and feel great. Don’t worry about the kiss thing, it will come eventually. Good luck and Happy New Year!
