When you scored a 224, how do you know that wasn’t somewhat of a fluke, as in you got lucky with a few questions, and your REAL score range is around 216, which is what you got this time?

See Post #7…I took the October 2010 SAT (soph year) and got a 2240…it was the week right before the PSAT. Definitely not a fluke. I know I can get 2300+…but the test format takes some adjusting to, as with any standardized test. I didn’t prepare for this for this year’s PSAT…I took it cold.

omg, I did the same thing! In 10th grade I got a 220 with absolutely no preparation, and then in 11th grade, after I studied some, I got a 219! I was so mad. But really, National Merit means like close to nothing. Don’t worry about it; it’s not the biggest thing in the world right now.

The only thing the PSAT did for me was get my name mentioned in the paper in an article so small you needed a magnifying glass to read it.

And I didn’t even get top billing!

"Local Students X and Y are Recognized by National Merit Corp.

…student z also got something…"

I was student z…

Freshman, took the OCT 2011 PSAT, got the results today and was going through missed and wrong questions and could have done much better, but since this my first test i don’t know how to intrepret them for future and upcoming PSAT tests, anyways MY PSAT Scores:CR:62, M:61,W:60, please advice if they are good as/for a freshman, Any advice or suggestion is appreciated.
thanks.

Those are pretty good scores… I had slightly better freshman year and got a 221 this year as a junior. I’m from MD, so that should, fingers crossed make the semi-finalist cut-off.

Just do better on your SATs and study:)

…its a freakin’ PSAT. chill.
