Ok, i guess im not applying anymore. I just realized that i have dirty luck with colleges. A real long nice post that i was writing a min ago just randomly dissapeared. (what the...)

Anyways ill get to the point real quick this time
Im an average student, with no gifted talents, or something outstanding.
My GPA is 3.5 UW, and class rank is about 30/120.
I havent taken the SAT, and SAT2 yet. Im going to take them all in the next two months.
(ill probably score around 2000 on the SAT, no idea about the SAT2s)

Ive taken 4 AP Exams so far:

Psychology 5
German Language 5
Caculus 4
Biology 4

and taking 4 more APs this year (senior year).

I dont have much to say about EC, since all i have for this section of the application is some community service hours and a couple of school activities.

I guess the only advantage i have is that im a "cosmopolitan" person, living in Germany with Korean nationality while going to an american school. (would this actually help?)

Ive heard of average people getting in to Harvard (but actually how common is that?) Is there even a fraction of a chance that i get in? Im going to try anyways, but just curious how ridiculous my idea is / what my counselor would think about me..

HIGHLY unlikely. unless there's something your not telling us, i.e. your dad makes five billion bucks a year and is willing to build add new library.

Yeah sorry, but you don't really have a shot at Harvard. You should read some of the other "chances" threads to see what the competition's like.

Thanks, you guys are totally encouraging me.
Actually.. Harvard is the only college in the US, that i could possibly attend if i get in, since it has a real nice scholarship policy for international students.
Unless it is Harvard, it's almost impossible to get in to a decent college AND get a scholarship with my stats, right?

There's a lot of other "decent" colleges in the United States with generous endowments that provide financial aid for internationals in the US...not just Harvard.

^Yeah, just look at Macalester. It's this whole "Harvard or nothing" mentality that is so damaging. Apply if you want-- just know that the Asian International applicant pool is HUGE and HIGHLY competitive.

hm.. yeah, my parents kinda brainwashed me, that colleges other than the ivy league ones are not worth going to, and paying so much money for (since even if i get a scholarship, it probably won't be a full scholarship). They said i should rather go to a gernan college unless it is one of those top colleges in the US. I know its a really rigid mentality, but i grew up with it.. I really dont want to go to college here, in germany. Im so desperate to get out of here :( So i guess i should be more realistic, and try to break my stupid mentality. Any suggestions about what colleges i can apply to? (besides Harvard.. lol j/k) im not sure about what my major's gonna be, but im interested in medical and dental studies (which i guess would be to challenging for me), biology, and psychology. Help me out pelase!
