I'm Canadian and have done a TON of research on all Canadian Uni's. Ask me anything.

Im bumping up this because i want to know the answer for above too.

Hey, I’m from the USA and I want to study in Canada. Will the Canadian government pay for me, as an international student, or will I have to pay for everything myself?

bumping this

Can you help me?

Why in God’s name would Canada pay for your education. ■■■■■!!!

I’m applying for the Chancellor’s Scholarship at UofO. The application form wants me to list all the extracurricular activities I’ve been in, but I haven’t been involved in a lot because I went to a small private school. How important are extracurricular activities?

Wow. Quite honestly, this forum has a problem with calling people “■■■■■.” I’m not a ■■■■■, I’m just wondering. My older sister who finished Uni said that it does, but I don’t know where she got that information.

You should ask your sister where she got that information because it is wrong. Canada does not even give its own citizens a free university education.

Can you double major in Canada? E.g. computer science and chemistry?

How similar is the Canadian system to the US system? (With general ed., majors, minors, etc.)

How long does it take to get a Bachelor’s degree in Canada?

I might be interested in studying in Canada. :)

That depends on the school. Many universities in Canada will let you do a double major or a major with a minor. Bachelor’s degrees are usually 4 year degrees - depending on which province you study in. Some universities, like the University of Victoria, offer outstanding co-op programs which enable students to study while gaining on-the-job training and work experience in their chosen fields. Degrees with co-op options take longer than the regular 4 years. Co-op is an excellent way to pay for your education too!

Hey guys i needed your help on deciding if i should really go with uni of waterloo.
I intend to do MBA after this and have offer for soft. Engineering prog of waterloo.
Its said their computer grads are very popular amongst apple and
Do u think waterloo would be a good choice. I have offers from manchester and edinburgh too. I havent applied to US schools so i can go for them also.
Waterloo has the largest co-op prog so i will get a lot of managing experience and skill.
So will i be equally competetent to an ivy student.
Will waterloo provide me an ivy equivalent future.

OP hasn’t replied in a while, so if anyone has any general questions feel free to post here or PM me. I can’t answer much, but I’ll do my best if it’s something general or related to UofT or engineering.

Hi,

I am from Greece and I want to study in Canada for a Bachelor in an Agriculture-related major. I don’t know which one is better (for me, not in general).

I don’t want very difficult courses.

I’m not very smart at chemisty, maths, or physics, but I’m good in Biology, and I like plants and growing crops, fruits and vegetables. However, I don’t like animals very much especially pigs and cows.

As you may notice, English is not my first language, but I got 7.5 in IELTS (I don’t know how!)

1- Which province in Canda is better in these fields?

2- What are the best universities or colleges in these fields? and why?

3- What about these universities: Dalhousie, Saskatechwan, and Alberta? (I know that Alberta is the best among them in general, but may be not neccessary the best for me.)

4- The easier the application is, the better.

5- The less foreign students are, the better.

Please do not hesitate to answer in length and details, I will read and consider everything you will write.

Thank you,

Hi, I just got admitted to U of Toronto, Computer science … and I heard a lot about the difficulty of the curriculum ( which sounds really difficult) , and score adjustments( they adjust down your scores due to competitiveness, which I hate a lot !) , and drop out rates (which is high ?)… so, are these data true ? I am a transfer student from Singapore … thanks in advance

@starVision As a recent UofT graduate (Life Sci) I can say while UofT is challenging, its reputation is not entirely deserved. You can succeed and get a great grade at uoft if you work hard.

Greenophile : Guelph is a great option for agriculture… Maybe look into that.

Sorry don’t know much about agriculture at the other unis you’ve mentioned.

How is the Business faculty in U of T?
