in english class we were reading a biography on dr. seuss and it said that he got REJECTED by the first 43 publishing companies he went to. number 44 however proved very successful, however. WOW just my luck, theres a 43 in my user name, my email and everywhere else which is why i intend to change it to 44. (i am very picky about these luck/ superstitious things..) my new username will be emmers44, incase you were wondering...haha it's just me.
Also, has anyone else do these wierd things too? like, reach into a bag of m&m's and tell yourself that if you pick a red one out you get to go to boarding school? i do it all the time, but it doesn't work... :(

I was on this website and I was like if it says that the admissions number is 10% for Columbia, then I will get into boarding school. I was like, well, it's probably much higher than that. But, then I scrolled down and the admissions number is 10%! It was so random!

And, okay, emmers! About the new username thing!

Hahahaha, where did you come up with that? Well I do very odd thing, when anything bad happens I say "Escipulas", I don't know if thats how you spell it in English, it's from my moms side, it was a holy thing turned superstitious...lol, its weird...

I have had two lucky pennies with me at all times for at least two weeks now...

I've worn my lucky socks everyday for the past week. They have not been washed, either. (Ewww) LOL!

Yes, my SN has exactly 5 Z's in it. I like multiples of 5.
they bring me good luck.
(yea 10 is a multiple of 5)

random but 4 means death in china.
hehe

4 is like THE unluckiest number in the world for east-asians. It's like an extreme version of 13. Like for us, 13 is a bad thing but we don't excessively let it influence our society. With four it's quite funny. When I first came to Korea I asked my mom why there were 6 floors on the elevator, I was sure there were five when we first saw the building. And she said, "Well, we didn't put in the fourth floor." Talk about Wayside school!

most apartments here either don't include a fourth floor or they put a big fat red F in for the button on the elevators. It's kind of creepy at night, but then again you start to get used to it. If I ever move to NYC, I'm going to rent an apartment in a skyscraperish building and take a picture of the number four on the elevator. I've been deprived of it for quite a while ;)

43 was Richard Petty's number, the all time KING of NASCAR.

kickme_cuzimcool, it's the same thing in Canada with 13 in most apartment buildings. I'm pretty sure it's the same in the US as well. But people on the 14th floor really know what floor they're living on.

ooooohhh! I never entered an apartment with more than 4 floors when I was in america (we lived in the suburbs, not too cityish but okay enough) so I wouldn't really know. thanks for telling me that, I might have ended up looking like an idiot in front of my friends if I said something like that =/
I wouldn't mind living on the 13 or 4th floor though. Really, it's 90% media influence that emphasized how unlucky the number was. And I just need a good view (:
