Interesting tidbit

I called the admissions office today with a question. Just started off normally, "Hi, this is Abby Blahblah, and..."

"Sorry to interrupt, but what's your birthday?"

Thinking "why would they need to know that?"
"Oh, um, October 17."

"Okay, sorry, it's just that we have two Abby Blahblahs in our system."

WEIRD! I hope this doesn't affect my chances, lol :P

Since they called to confirm your birthday, i'd say you're fine. :P
And unless the same person reads both files, it shouldnt be a problem.

wow! what are the odds of having two Abby Blahblahs applying at the same time! I mean, it's not a very common last name!

MBP i don't think Blahblah is the real name. and saammie magneticpoet called the admission office not the other way round

I wonder what they would have asked next had you had the same birthday as the other Abby B.

social security maybe? haha.
and i think mbp was being funny... i dont think anyone thought blahblah was my real last name!

Haha, I wasn't paying proper attention :P
To revise my post; lucky YOU called so they dont mix you two up.

yeah he probably was. still, its almost as if they were waiting for you to call

yeah, i was joking. internet forums aren't the best places for joking, especially for sarcasm. Blahblah would be a pretty B.A. last name, in my opinion, though. :D

i know, my friends will be all sarcastic on facebook or whatever and i have to remind them that black and white text has no tone of voice. :p

i would OWN that last name.
...but what if... there were really two abby blahblahs really applying to macalester? it's like... an episode of the twilight zone, or something.

okay, not really.
