im clueless about financial aid

i dont know much about financial aide other than i NEED it.
my parents make 14000 a year.
i am the third child in college.
i really want to go to a school like university of arizona or CU oulder... both about 45-50,000. Both my brother and sister get almot complete financial aide but they have much better grades than i do.
my weighted gpa is a 3.6, SAT 1650, ACT 27.

can anyone help me figure out how much i could get or what other info if needed?

Are you saying that both of your parents’ income totals 14,000?

What state are you in?

You’re not going to get much aid at OOS publics without high stats. Your siblings got merit scholarships based on their stats.

Are you a junior or senior?

yes their total income is 14,000. i am in california and i am a junior.

Did you brother and sister go to out of state public schools? I think you’d be more likely to get decent aid by staying in CA and taking advantage of the CalGrant and Blue&Gold programs. Those, coupled with the Pell grant and other federal aid programs, should cover most of your costs.

Yes!

Stay in California. You’ll get Cal Grants that way. If you leave Calif, you won’t get those.

Apply to UCs…especially the lower tier ones because you’ll likely be accepted and get full aid. UCMerced and UCRiverside.

The CSUs may not give as much aid (Blue and Gold only applies to UCs)

Take the ACT again…and practice for it.
