Okay well … I did FAFSA and my parents are seperated. I have lived with my mom and my father hasn’t lived with us in a long time. So I ofcourse I put seperated on FAFSA and everything worked out fine. Now … I’m doing CSS for 2 schools and they both require the non custodial info. And well… I don’t know what to do for the non custodial one. My parents are seperated BUT STILL MARRIED. They live in different states … should I even do the non custodial profile ? My dad doesn’t give us any welfare or alimony so should I just leave those blank? Idk what to do. He also makes ALOT more money so would that hurt my chances at getting money ?
You do the Profile. You include your mom’s info only.
Your dad will have to do the non-custodial parent Profile. He will include his financial information.all of it.
They are separated…so that is what you do.
YOU don’t do the NCP portion. Your DAD is supposed to fill that out.
Separated parents are treated like divorced parents.
Do your parents still file taxes together? If so when your mother fills out her portion she might have included his income. Make sure your aren’t filing double the income and assets on the CSS.
