On the Davis Housing website it states that you should determine whether or not you want a single or double occupancy, because it affects one’s financial aid.

This is where I get confused:

1) Does it mean it will be cheaper if you share it with two people? (Since it will be half of the cost?)

OR

2) Does it mean that a single occupancy room will be cheaper, in general?

****Also, does anyone know the exact prices for a single AND double occupancy room…in order to figure out which one is cheaper?**

Thank you for the help!

I don't remember the exact numbers - just know that it's not THAT big of a difference. The double occupancy room is twice the size of a single roughly, so there's not much to think about there. Go with what you would prefer.

I'm not a housing expert but I do see this on their site http://www.housing.ucdavis.edu/Halls/New/default.htm
“Room & board rates for the academic year vary, depending upon the room occupancy and meal plan selected.”
If you click on the link “Room &board rates” you can view what the expected cost for single, double and triple rooms with the different meal plans incorporated into the cost.

Thank you guys for your help! :)
