Im confused?! (college majors)

I want to become an obgyn one day or just a family physician. My thing was to major in biology to get into med school(im in houston tx) but it seems like biology is not the way to go I should take mathematics. when it comes to math I suck... I love chemistry but I'm not that good with algebra and I hate geometry. I love english but I hate history. Im saying all of that to kind of let u know how i feel about certain subjects. I absolutely adore music but I don't know how to read music. what would be my best bet to go for as far as a major. I want to minor in psychology by the way. the mind and the human thinking process fascinates me. I love the whole baby and women issues thing which is why i picked obgyn but im also a little disturbed because a friend of mine used to work as a labory/delivery nurse and says there are lots of malpractice suits in tx. I wanted to be a lawyer if not a medical doctor but it seems they are not thriving here either. any advice or suggestions??? on anything??

My advice is to quit using love and hate. If you want to be a doctor, you can’t avoid mathematics. Biology is certainly important. Look at the college catalogs for UT or A&M for their pre-med programs. That will tell you a lot about what you must take. You certainly won’t get into med school with limited math skills.

Not liking something just means you have to work a little harder to master it. Time to do that is now if you want to be successful.

Hey it sounds to me like you would like Houston Baptist University they have a good Pre-med program and a great nursing program !!

What major is “good” or “successful” depends on so much, and there are so many conflicting answers on what paths are good to go into. If you want to be an obgyn then study biology and do pre-med… I don’t really know what you mean by “it seems like biology is not the way to go I should take mathematics” because 1) math is not exactly leading to premed 2) you say you don’t like/aren’t good at math. Do what you want to study! Other ideas: music therapy, writing/journalism, pediatrician. Also remember tons of people will tell you what could happen or the worst, but follow your passions.
