I'm Confused! What Should I Study?

I'm interested in becoming an environmental journalist and writing about animals. I have three options:
1) A double major in biology and environmental studies-environmental nonfiction
2) A major in environmental studies-conservation biology, and a minor in literature
3) A major in biology and minors in environmental studies and literature
I really can't decide which choice to go with. Do you have any insight as to which will be the most appropriate for my future? Thanks.

I’m sure you’re aware of this program (which is awaiting new funding):
[Fellowships in Environmental Journalism | Middlebury](<a href=“Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest | Middlebury”>Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest | Middlebury)

Why not sent an email to fiej@middlebury.edu? They’ll be able to offer better advice than most people on this forum.

Your major matters about as much as your hair color in terms of impact on your future. I was an art history major before becoming an environmental/land use attorney (before moving on to a more creative career). What matters is that you develop the ability to learn quickly, to express yourself, and to think creatively. Have fun.

Take classes in all the areas you mentioned, and see what inspires you. That’s the beauty of a small LAC. You may discover passions you never knew you had…
