I'm freaking out about losing my title of Valedictorian.

Okay, here's the thing. In middles school, whoever has the highest average is titled Valedictorian. We had midterms this week, and I got 100s on all of them except the midterm for Algebra 1, which I got an 87 on. Now, my SEMESTER grades are all hundreds-6 classes, and I have a 98 in Algebra 1. My average for this semester is a 99.7. I know that everything above a 99.5 average is rounded up to a 100. To earn the title Valedictorian, you have to have a 100 average, which I now have, but is rarely in the reach of other kids. Those midterms...Does anyone know if ALL four 9-week grading periods are counted, or only the semester grades?
Being the Valedictorian of 8th grade is my goal. I hope I didn't lose reach of it. I don't mean to sound narcissistic, but I'm REALLY that concerned...Thanks for everyone that replies! :)

LOL!!!.

Middle doesn’t matter at all. Just enjoy it. Colleges won’t care if you’re the 8th grade val.

sadly shakes head
You’re too young, ClarinetGirl719.

LOL, You’re right, but I’m pretending I’m a 12th grade high school senior (I know I’m weird, LOL) But I want to prove myself. I’m even taking the SATs, but so are other 7th and 8th graders (For Duke).

I really hope this is a ■■■■■. If not, don’t come back for another three years.

It’s not…Trust me. If this were a ■■■■■ post, you’d know pretty quicly

If you want to pretend you’re a senior, that would involve doing less work than you ever did before. Also, colleges you apply to likely won’t even know you took the SAT this year.

I’m not too young.

I said a 12th grade high school senior. And I’m aware that colleges won’t know.

Then what’s the point?

It would just be fun to pretend.

Go outside, get some exercise and, don’t give a hoot about school until 9th grade.

You’re so weird.

I know I’m weird. Didn’t I just concede to that? And I just think if I do well in 8th grade, I’ll be more motivated to do well in high school, that’s all. I, for some reason, admire the upper classmen and college students.

I apologize if I’m coming across as rude! I really don’t want to…

(1) Middle school doesn’t matter at all.

(2) Algebra I is the easiest high school level math class you’ll take. Why do you think you did poorly? You might need to really work on that if it was because you didn’t understand the material.

Trying hard in middle school does not neccessarily translate over to highschool.
trust me on that one hahahaha
honestly, enjoy the coast before subjects get a tad bit more challenging (unless of course you’re some sort of genius…)
and please do yourself a favor and do not get stressed out about colleges until you actually need to.

I did well in the class, I just did horrible on the midterm. The midterm had different stuff on it, and a lot of other people did poorly on it.

Thanks, Crider:) But I don’t mind stress. I just want to do my best this year because the last couple of years, I slacked a whole lot, and I want to show my true potential.

I agree with this.

Go practice your clarinet. A high school band always needs more good clarinetists.

I said I’m not a ■■■■■. And I am. You familiar with Smart Music?
