I'm freaking out and can't decide

Recently I was admitted to both NYU Tisch as a film major and Northwestern as a radio/television/film major. Now before you jump the gun and state the obvious let me just say that I plan on double majoring- with biomedical engineering. If I go to the better film program (Tisch) then I have to do biochemistry instead (at CAS). Honestly, I'm not a big fan of biochem, but know already that I am probably going to end up getting my Mastors and PhD. Northwestern has a very well known engineering school. I can't decide which to chose.

I wake up and say NYU for sure. Then I turn around and go no wait definetely Northwestern. And so on....

P.s. Alright, so I know I already posted this in two other forums and I hate when people keep posting the same thing. Sorry!

Biochem and Film? Huh? Sorry, I fail to see the connection. I mean did you use Film as a hook in your application? Don't mean to suggest that, but its a bit interesting.

Northwestern is a classic college campus in a classic college town with classic sports, and near Chicago. Weather is an issue however.

NYU has no sports, in the middle of Greenwich Village with tall buildings and its not really a campus but an urban jungle. You either love it or hate it. Its New York so that is a plus for Film majors. Biochem people may feel differently if they are looking for quiet research.

Both are superb schools so that is a wash in my view.

Where are YOU from? That may have a bearing on it.

Visit both and decide.

I think seafoodlover is right. I'd choose NW in a heartbeat, and it has nothing at all to do with academics. I'd be in heaven strolling across that leafy campus on a fall afternoon, checking out the view over the lake on my way to a Big Ten football game with plans to do the concert that night at Pick-Staiger. On the other hand, the thought of being stuck on a non-campus among the skyscrapers and the Washington Park crowd would make me absolutely queasy. But that's just me - and since NYU is always one of college-bound students' top "dream schools," my preferences surely aren't everyone's. I bet one of those settings appeals to you more than the other. And FWIW, the film program at either place should be fabulous.

NYU does have the better film program...but I too don't get the correlation between the two fields?

NU has a top film school. Perhaps not quite as good as NYU's, but still very highly regarded. Furthermore, NYU has NO engineering. If you want to double major, then NYU is out of the question. However, keep in mind that Engineering and Film are both very different fields and each one is very time consuming. It is unlikely you will find the time to graduate in less than 5 or even 6 years.

I wouldn't like going to college in the City....I choose NW...I love the campus, although not the weather! But Chicago is twenty minutes away, and is a great city, also.

Why are you so set on something you don't like? That makes no sense.

Seafoodlover and world changer: I want to try to work in the film industry, but am realistic to understand that satisfying jobs are hard to find. My other love is science, so I figured I should double in case I need the degree in the future for a job.
Also, I am originally from Miami, but now live overseas. (very urban setting)
Alexandre: I know!!!!! I was sort of freaking out (yet again), but I contacted both schools and by enrolling in summer courses I can graduate on time with both majors. Sweet.
Soccerguy315: I meant my masters and PhD in biomedical engineering. Sorry for not being more clear.
Thanks so much for your input guys! I am still not sure though.
