Well UW was the ONLY school I applied to. I already got into their Bothell campus, but I really want to go to their main campus. Here are my stats 3.64 1880 SAT

But here is the problem, my grade trend is not very good 3.9 4.0 3.55 3.5 3.55 3.3.

I take mostly honors/ AP classes. 4 years science- honors classes, 5 years math (AP calc atm) AP US, AP GOV,

I'm an African American and it is stated in my essays. I hear that does help but then others say it doesnt. I have community service and I have been an FBLA officer the past 2 years.

This year, I hear they aren't taking that many. SHould I be worried?

Well, I guess it's a good thing that you already have Bothell in or else I would also be worried. The SAT is around average. The GPA is slightly below average. Of course, african american may or may not help, but I don't know for UW specifically.

At the UW being African American REALLY REALLY REALLY helps. They love minorities. I don't mean that in a snotty way at all, it's true.

Your grade trend is bad but your GPA isn't...so I don't know how they'll look at it, although really and truly, I don't think you have anything to worry about, esp with the classes you've taken.

Being African American doesn't help, but the experiences directly from it might- adversity, etc., but just saying "I'm black" won't do anything. Apparently UW is NOT giving preferential admittance based on ethnic backgrounds any more.

Every school says they don't discriminate, but we all know that to some extent they look at the ethnicity of the applicant. Being African-American WILL help you and give your application a +
