I'm going to bomb the SATs tomorrow ahhhh

I'm comfortable with writing and reading, but I have a terrible feeling about Math. I haven't brushed up on my math skills in a few months (except in Chem Honors) so I'm just in panic mode. I scored low on the PSATs in sophomore year so I have a feeling this year won't be any better, especially considering I picked a date that interfered with finals and a few other things...I'm so thoughtful.

I should probably be shunning myself and studying hardcore right now but I'm taking a little break and asking for reassurance (because I'm a baby). Even if I fail this time, there's always August, right? If I can really put my nose in the grindstone I can redeem myself in time for application season, right? I'm not expecting to go to a top college (not smart+no money), just a state school...

WAHHHHH

Even if you fail this time, you have October, November, and December. If that actually makes you feel better.

What’s your score goal anyway?

Define failing. Most CC’ers would assume failing with scores below 2200 which in the real world is utter BS.

I’m aiming to an 1800. I know, I suck, I’m just keeping in perspective and prioritizing everything accordingly.

Since most of the schools that I am applying to superscore, I am just going to focus on my math tomorrow, then study all summer for the October test when I will focus on Essay and CR.

Me too. I got like, 1400 on my PSAT. Saturday is going to be the first time I’m taking the SAT’s. I’ve been studying a lot. I heard this girl at my school got like 800… but moving on, just try your best. Don’t beat yourself about it too much. You’re more than your numbers. =)

I don’t know if I should take the SAT’s in December or not… O.o All the college apps would have been turned in already. I’m confused about that.

but anyway, good luck! =) I’m aiming for like a 1600. My friend and I were talking about how we’d kiss the ground and go to church if we got like 1700+.

You mean 140? Out of 240? Ouch. The SAT is pretty easy, actually … although the ACT is a joke (36 w00t!). For the SAT, it just really annoying with its little sections and whatnot.

Then get everything you need together tonight (calculator, bottle of water, snack, admission ticket, pencils, ID), get a good night’s sleep, have breakfast in the morning with protein (maybe hardboil an egg tonight, if you don’t think you’ll have time to cook in the morning).

You’ll do fine, trust me. :)

You just get CollegeBoard to send in the score report, and the colleges accept it. The deadline is for your application and teacher recs, not score reports. In fact, some colleges even accept January SATs! :)

i feel you, math blows. i took the sat in may and got an 800 on cr and 780 on writing… can’t even break 700 on math. ): i wish writing had more weight.

i’m taking the u.s. history and lit subject tests tomorrow and i have done 0 studying. i’m screwed!

@Chase - LOLLL. Dude!! I was completely blown away by the vocabulary on the reading and writing parts of the SAT. My freshman english teacher gave vocabulary tests and the words were: include, exclude, open, close. SERIOUSLY. Haha, maybe I just suck, I was just randomly bubbling in answers, I didn’t even know what the PSAT was, rofl.

@quomodo - LOL thanks =) I’ll take them twice senior year then… SO MANY TESTS, womp.

Will EA schools take October/November SAT?

^October, yes. November, yes for most. Check with each school, though, about November.

Ok, so because of recent events as of the past 20 minutes, I’m pretty much doomed to absolutely fail the math portion. Def retaking in the fall. Possibly canceling scores…honestly, what is there that I can do? Are colleges going to see my awful score even if I don’t send it to them? I don’t think I even want to see it.

also it sux having to take exams the day after grad nite :c

^It depends, some schools request you send all scores while many allow you to send only your best scores or the scores you want to send.

^ lovely

wellll it was easier than i expected, but i still probably bombed the math portion. should i feel bad that i don’t exactly feel bad?
