Hi, I'm only a hs junior this year but I really want to see what I need to finish accomplishing to get into Stern. I'm also in one of the top 10 high schools in NYC and top 100 in the whole country. (Do colleges take note of that?) So saying if I accomplished what I listed, what are my chances?

Heres what I have so far:
SAT - M-640 CR -580 W-640 1860 (January but definitely retaking in May/June/October to get [hopefully] get over 2100)
APs (taken and taking this year) - AP World (4), AP English Language & Comp. (may hoping for 4/5), AP Biology (may definitely wants a 5), AP US History (may hoping for a 3/4)
SAT IIs - Biology (may/june), English (may/june)
Unweighted GPA -3.4 (i know it's low but sometimes you can't be the best at all the classes :()
Weighted GPA - 3.6
Senior Year Course Load - planning to take AP English, AP Statistics, AP Calculus
Averages (weighted, school doesn't show unweighted) - Freshman (92), Sophmore(86-87?), Junior (96 [theres still half the year left so trying to get a 100+ weighted average])(Don't colleges look at your junior year 1st term the most and if they see improvement, it's good?)

Extracurriculars:
Key Club(freshman year), Mural Club (freshman and sophmore year), DECA (going to become president/vice president) (also joining NHS next year)
Job/Work Experience: Teacher's Assistant at an afterschool
(am planning to spend my whole summer with an internship at a buisness company)
Summer Activities - Schooling?
Talents - Piano classically - 3 years, Violin classically -3 years + continuing

-planning to ask my AP English, AP Biology, and APUSH teachers for recommendations :)

Also, do they take AP World credits? What kind of APs does NYU take credits for?

Also, I know my resume is kind of lacking but I just want to know if I have an okay chance.

hm, hopefully I’ll be able to raise my grades up this year and am aiming for that 2100+! but i’ve seen people with 1900s and 90 averages that got into NYU.

can you also answer my other questions? like if they take the ap credits, if junior year term 1 counts a lot and if your hs is taken note of?

And I’ve seen people with 1900s get into Ivy leagues - that’s not the norm, rather, it’s the exception. It’s far better to be within the norm than only within the exceptions.

Yes, they take AP credits and yes, your high school (somewhat) matters.

Junior year term 1 is no more important than other terms.

I’m a high school junior as well and I can’t stop stressing over school/grades/SATs/ecs as well. My GPA definitely made an impact on my grade (3.5 unweighted last semester) and I’m aiming for at least a 3.8 unweighted for second semester. I guess we just both have to hang in there and try our best Good-luck to you!

Ill join the club of super scared jrs. 2240 SAT, but a horrendus 3.4 UW GPA, mostly because of freshmen year, but it still makes me look terrible on paper.
