I'm not doing so well in my 9th grade year, can I still get into a good college?

I wouldn't say I did "bad". I'll estimate that I'll graduate freshman year with a 89 average. I really want to get into NYU, and if not, higher. I promise myself that I would do well for the remaining of my 3 years and I know I will. My parents spent a lot of money on me with tutoring and stuff and I really don't want to let them down. If I do REALLY well for the next 3 years, will I will have a chance for at least NYU?

I need some answers, I feel so guilty.

You probably could. Just REALLY pickup the slack. Try to get straight A’s while taking all honors and AP classes. I think you will be fine. Also take summer school classes. I am freshman and got straight A’s while taking all honors so I ohow what I am talking about.

I think you’re doing fine  I would keep trying your best, and keep in mind that a bunch of colleges don’t even look at freshman grades (not sure if NYU is one of them sorry)
as long as your grades have an upward trend, you should be good!

Don’t worry man. Colleges love improvement. Get good grades and throw in some ec’s and you’ll get in wherever you put your mind to getting into

No offense, but can I get an answer from someone with experience?

Freshman year is usually the easiest academically…I know some people just do badly because they’re adjusting and end up with an upward trend, but “if” is the operative word here.
Some colleges don’t consider freshman-year grades.
