Im sad :(

Yea it is... 3.8 to 5.1... Wow... Do you get like +2 for APs or something?

:)

Lmao, that's awesome! I wish I went to your school.

We get +0.2, yeah. It's pretty great. It does a nice job of covering up all those unwanted grades.

WHAT? i might have to hurt someone. most likely you. how is it possible to get a 5.1? how is your weighting policy? that is insane.

my uw is like a 3.68...sigh.

Please don't hurt me. I have no pain tolerance at all. I had to get a shot a few days ago and I think I cried for about half an hour. But you can hurt whoever established the grading policy at my school.

It's possible to get a 5.1 like this:
for example, say you get straight A's in all 7 classes you take. Then you have a 4.0. But if they're all weighted classes (i.e. honors, AP, IB), then you get an additional +0.2 tacked on. Thus, a 5.4.

Obviously, I haven't gotten straight A's or taken all honors courses (as hard as I tried). So if you think about it, out of a maximum of 5.4, a 5.1 isn't actually that great.

except it is.

wow. we get one point for our APs and honors. but our school thinks we're being too competitive and makes all these weird restrictions meaning most of us can only take about 5 APS total.

That's about the dumbest rule I've ever heard. We have all sorts of bureaucracy at our school, but if you whine hard enough to your guidance counselor, you can usually get whatever you want.
