Im screwed?

I'm a legal US resident (living in North Carolina) and a Canadian citizen, i do not have a SSN, alien registration #, or a green card. My family is in the process of obtaining a green card and both my parents have a SSN, but i don't. I'm applying to colleges using common app but couldn't submit the form because i don't have the said numbers.

I contacted the support team and this is what i got:
"By the guidelines of the application, you will not be able to submit your application until you have received your green card (so that you upload it), and your accompanying registration number. For more information, please contact the department from which you will be issued your green card."

So im kinda panicking since i wanted to make UNC's October 15th early action deadline... yea and i have all the essays written....

If that’s the case how do international applicants submit the common app? Are they required to have a green card even before they apply to schools, a year before they actually end up living in the US? I have a feeling there is a way around this but sadly I don’t know it.

Good luck though.

I would try submitting a paper copy and talk about why your numbers aren’t there in a space for additional information. I may be wrong, so double check, but that’s what I would do.

Could you use your Visa? Besides, your passport should contain at least the temporary number that substitutes for the green card.
(Canadian citizen with green card)

The Green Card upload requirement is only for US Permanent Residents. It sounds like you are a Canadian citizen living in the US–which is different. Simply indicate your current status as a Canadian citizen, and the upload requirement will go away. If you obtain PR status after applying, you can update your colleges at that time.

^^ That would make him/her an international applicant. If you are a legal US resident, run, dont walk to the local Social Security office. Even illegal aliens are allowed a “non-working” SS card in order to open a Bank Account. By run, I mean go online and check requirements if its too far away from home.
