I'm Stucked

I will be done with Gen Chem 1 this semester and this means I will take Intro to Neuroscience on the Fall semester. Also, I'm doing Physics 1 this semester. So, I have little idea on what to take on the Fall semester other than Intro to Neuroscience & Physics II. Pretty much every Neuroscience classes require Intro to Neuroscience as a prerequisite. What are my options? I don't want to take Organic Chemistry yet 'cause it will be a lot to handle. I'm majoring in Neuroscience by the way. Also, what happen with Dr.Stricker not teaching the big class anymore?

You’re majoring in A&S and therefore have a LOT of gen eds to cover (language, fine arts, non-western culture, etc.) why not get a few of those done?

As for the Dr. Striker question- it was my understanding that he only teachers the honors classes. And now that he is dean of the Honors College he may be limiting the number of classes he teaches.

Actually, I’m only left with one Gen Eds class because I transferred all the other from another college.

Oh I see, I was just wondering because Dr.Stricker is listed in Rate My Professors under NROSCI 1000 which is Intro to Neuroscience.

If there’s nothing else that you can take towards your degree why not just take some classes that sound interesting to you so that you can hit the 12 credit minimum for full time students?

See if you can do independent study for credit.

Otherwise, take a look at some bio courses that may be useful to complement your neuro…something like cell biology or genetics. Perhaps something from the history & philosophy of science department.

Or just see if you can get permission to take a neuro elective. Something like Development Neuroscience may not necessarily rely too heavily on prereqs.

I might take Intro to Neuroscience and Organic Chem 1. What do you think?

By the way, what does one do in independent study?

I think a writing-intensive English class would help with any future plans you have.

Independent study means you are working in a lab, doing research, for credit. You’ll need to find a lab and talk to the PI… or schedule and appointment with the Neuroscience advisor

Don’t I need at least Intro to Neuroscience for that. Because that in order to do Independent Study in Biological Science, you’ll need to have at least taken Biology 1 & 2. I assume the same applies for Neuroscience?
