I'm taking a college course, any benefit to taking a corresponding AP exam?

This summer, I’m taking a psych course in NYU precollege. I’m anticipating a final grade of around a B, maybe B-. My school doesn’t really offer the opportunity to take too many APs. Would there be any benefit to taking the psych AP exam at a different school to show that I have a good understanding of the subject and/or just to boost the number of APs I’ll be able to cite?

I’m pretty sure taking an AP exam would be redundant since I’m getting credit for the class I’m taking now anyway, but I just wanted to check.

No. The course you’re taking is probably not going to correlate with the material on the AP exam.

^^ Exactly. AP courses are matched exactly with the exam material, and all college psych courses are probably different.
