There is one other alternative. Take the Subject test standby Nov 5. at a school that the student thinks they have a good change to get it at.

Call the collegeboard and get a list of 3 schools closeby that are holding the test. Call each school ask for someone who has experience with how SAT testing has gone and the chance of getting in standby.

Go take the test at that school. If you are lucky two schools are closeby and you can dash to the other one if one won’t let you in.

A friend’s son had something similar, a sporting event the night before the subject test in a town 3 hours from home.

Rather than try to get home leaving at the crack of dawn, they looked into going standby at a school in the town where the event had been held and stayed the nite there. He got in standby but they had called to make sure his chances were very good before they made the decision.
